The Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau, WI announces a call for artists for a competitive exhibition, January 4 - March 9, 2019. $1,500 in awards: 1 Best in Show, 3 Awards of Excellence, 3 Honors. The "29th Annual Midwest Seasons Exhibit" is open to artists over the age of 18. Original works should draw inspiration from Midwest seasonal impressions and activities: i.e., the excitement of summer sports, the fresh scents of spring awakenings, the warmth of a cup of hot soup in the bitter winter, or the crisp air and autumn colors. Interpretations of the season may be broad and entries are not limited to representational works. The juror, Amy Cannestra, will curate the exhibit in a "blind jurying" process. Inviting your entry in two and three-dimensional art: Photography, Painting, Drawing, Original Printmaking, Papermaking, Sculpture, Fiber, Textiles, Ceramics, Metal, Glass, Wood, and Mixed Media. $25 for one entry, $30 for two entries, $35 for three entries.
